Consider Volunteering at My Friend's Place

My Friend's Place - An Adult Social Program

My Friend's Place is a social activity program for people coping with memory loss, dementia or who are socially isolated. It is our mission to provide adults a safe, supportive and friendly environment that offers life-enriching social and recreational activities along with respite for their caregivers.

Because we feel it is important to keep a ratio of one staff or volunteer to every two participants, we are always looking for new volunteers who are caring and concerned individuals willing to make a time commitment to the program.

Volunteers will be helping participants with fun filled activities such as sing-a-longs, physical exercise, reminiscences, crafts, conversations and refreshments.

My Friend's Place offers caregivers some time away from the constant care and responsibility of a frail or confused older family member. We also offer support and education to help families deal with the changes in the life of their loved one as well as their own.

We are making a difference in people's lives. Come join us in making this difference!

My Friend's Place is held at First United Methodist Church in Bangor, Maine on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
